How to Plan Independent Travel
I’m grateful that travel has expanded my perspective and deepened my love of different races, religions, and cultures. Travel combats bigotry, racism and xenophobia. It is one of the most powerful tools of privilege to build understanding and awareness. As much as we all love travel, and know how good it is for us and the world, there is a lot of anxiety about travel, how to do it, and how to plan independent travel.
Our world has dramatically changed due to COVID19. The worldwide pandemic has affected the travel industry and has impacted how we will travel in the future. Dreaming and planning travel is one of the most exciting parts of the trip. We owe it to ourselves to plan the next best trip of our lives after being home for so long. Below I share my favorite methods on how I plan independent travel and can help and inspire you to have amazing vacations that will make your dreams come true.
More than ever, we all need to plan future adventures to explore the wonders of humanity and deepen our connection to our planet. I have traveled independently my whole adult life across the world and below is some of the secret sauce on how I plan independent travel that gets better with each adventure. Independent travel means taking charge of your travel dreams and desires, having an active role in the planning process and realizing your travel dreams. Independent travel doesn’t mean that you will be alone. You will be free to meet people, flexible enough to make friends or go local. Couples and families can travel independently too. Instead, you are customizing your trip and it’s your masterpiece to mold. Planning independent travel means breaking out of the cookie cutter experience that doesn’t suit you.
