The only catch is that travelers from the USA have to take a COVID tested flight from selected airports. First, Delta made the compliance announcement. Then, it was soon followed by United and American Airlines. So what are the requirements for COVID tested flights to Italy from the USA?
What is a COVID tested flights to Italy from the USA?
A COVID tested flight allows travelers from the USA to bypass the mandatory fourteen day quarantine. The fourteen day quarantine was mandatory until the May 16th ordnance. These new measures are an agreement between the Italian government and the specified airlines that execute and help enforce the current regulations and requirements.
What are the Requirements to Enter Italy?
A negative PCR or antigen test is needed to board a flight to Italy. It has to be taken 72 or 48 hours before departure. The time varies depending on the airline. For American Airlines, it is 48 hours before departure.
