How to Pack Wine or Alcohol in Luggage
After several years of travel, I’ve never had a bottle of wine, alcohol, or olive oil broken inside of my checked luggage.
Whether it’s coffee, wine, tea, or the local booze, there is a drinking culture in every place in the world. Drinking is a cross cultural activity. I love wine and often bring some back with me from my yearly trips to France or Italy. Sometimes, new friends want to give me a bottle of local alcohol to bring home. If I’m traveling to visit friends, I often like to bring a bottle of wine with me (because my mamma taught me better than that). This often leads me to check a bag after I’ve securely packed my bottles inside my luggage.
Packing a bottle of wine or alcohol should not lead to a stressful flight worrying if the bottle made it in one piece. You can easily pack large bottles in your checked bag safely and securely. All you need is two basic items for this DIY packing hack.
Check out the video below to find out and don’t forget to comment. What did you think of this packing idea I’ve been using for years?

Great tip. Have never used the toilet paper but will try it. Usually, we wrap a bottle in dirty clothes or a heavier piece of clothing then in a resealable bag. So far, no breakage. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks Wendy. Love hearing about how others do it too.

I use bubble wrap, ziplock bag and a t-shirt and snuggle the wine between other clothes. Haven’t had a bottle break as yet. Thanks for the wine tip and other travel tips.

No problem. Good idea with Bubble wrap, but hard to find on the road

I travel a lot and thought I knew a lot of hacks. But, that sock and toilet paper tip is a new one for me. I will try it later this month on my trip to Borneo. Thanks and keep the info coming!
